“Over this past year, I’ve come to appreciate the Rosary a lot more. Thanks be to God! I’ve had a handful of life-changing experiences of praying the Rosary in the past, so I know it is indeed a great gift from Our Lady (and St. Dominic). What I struggle with is how I can keep praying the Rosary daily, without seeing it as a chore or a task to be checked off from my daily TODO list.

“But consolation doesn’t last forever. Things also happened in my life that made it hard for me to devote so much time to praying. Within half a year, I’ve deteriorated to the point of not wanting to pray the Rosary at all.
“Thanks to the gift of this Rosary booklet, which is now instrumental in motivating me to pray the Rosary daily. On the days I find myself struggling to pray, I just pick up this booklet and verbally read aloud all the prayers and bible quotes. It can feel like merely fulfilling an obligation, but God treasures every offering we make, however small it is. The beauty of this booklet is that the pictures and the words are really avenues through which God speaks to us – if we give Him a chance. Sometimes I find myself captivated by a particular detail in a picture, which gives me an insight that I’ve never thought about. Other times some words in the bible quotes strike me. The net effect is that meditating on these mysteries really enrich my spiritual life profoundly, as testified by many saints.
“I’ve been taught that when we pray, we shouldn’t seek to “feel good” because self-serving prayers fail to bring us closer to God. The goal of immersing ourselves in the mysteries is not for seeking satisfaction, but to encounter Christ: “[the mysteries] put us in living communion with Jesus through… the heart of his Mother.”1
May this booklet lead us to ‘contemplate with Mary the face of Christ’.“2
